About Belle Bakery Cafe
Belle Bakery Cafe was a lifelong dream that recently became reality for the Kharbertyan family. From 2013-2014, Tony Kharbertyan attended the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and graduated with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. He hoped to one day own and operate his own bakery with the French pastry techniques he learned in culinary school.
“About twenty years ago, someone gave me a book called Science Experiments You Can Eat. I love baking because it’s science you can eat. I realized I was good at it and I enjoyed my time in the kitchen."
- Pastry Chef Tony
Over the years, Tony developed his skills as a pastry chef for Eden Burger Bar, Backdoor Bakery and Nickel Diner. When he was laid off from Nickel Diner during the pandemic, Tony started a home-based cookie business called Fundae Cookies.
In 2022, when the family saw that Belle Bakery Cafe was for sale, it seemed as if the stars had aligned. Tony, Grigor and Zabela purchased the business and took over operations in June 2022.
As an immigrant family, their goal is to create a welcoming space that feels like home for everyone who visits, a place where anyone can enjoy delicious, fresh and high quality food, baked goods and coffees at a reasonable price, a spot where friends become family by breaking bread.
Their kitchen specializes in a variety of croissants (plain butter, chocolate, almond and savory options), sandwiches on freshly baked breads, soups and salads, omelets, Friday challah and custom cakes in Los Angeles.
Stop by this LA bakery and coffee shop and enjoy all their offerings made with love.
